Meet the Team

Tom Goodloe

President
...

Tom Goodloe is the President of Fine Metals Corporation and the youngest son of the founder. He has been with the company for more than 30 years. He began his career by helping his father and brothers around the shop while earning an Associate’s degree in Business Administration. He developed a passion for the trade and became a metal technician, learning how to operate all of the machinery. It was his idea to expand capabilities offered at Fine Metals Corp. Eager to utilize his education, Tom transitioned to accounting and later to sales and marketing. Fine Metals Corp. started to develop a reputation that required them to grow from a part-time place of employment for a few people to a corporation that employs 30 team members.

Fine Metals Corp. is experiencing change again and Tom is leading the way, this time by embracing new technology for manufacturing and leading a team to earn an ISO 9001 certification. He is also in the process of helping develop a new generation of management at Fine Metals Corp., teaching them the manufacturing industry and encouraging them to use technology and their education to solve problems.

When Tom isn’t at Fine Metals Corp. he enjoys teaching Tae Kwon Do (where he holds a third degree black belt), skiing in West Virginia, relic hunting (you can even read articles written by him in American Digger magazine!), and spending time with his family.

Kim Goodloe

Director of Business Operations
...

Kim Goodloe is the Director of Business Operations and spouse of President, Tom Goodloe. Kim has been with Fine Metals for 25 years. Prior to joining the Fine Metals Corporation team, Kim was an Office Manager at a local steel company. After Kim and Tom’s twin boys were born with Tuberous Sclerosis, the decision for Kim to transition to Fine Metals Corporation was made.

At this time Fine Metals Corp. was composed of 4 employees, adding Kim to the team allowed Tom to increase his focus on sales and production efficiency. Kim’s skills in accounting, information systems, organization, and management laid the foundation for Fine Metals Corp. to grow. When the company grew, so did Kim’s role. A few of her responsibilities include team member benefits, capital purchases and managing a team focused on operational efficiency through new technology.

When Kim is not at Fine Metals she serves as the President of the Board of Directors for the Arc of Virginia, a non-profit disability advocacy organization. Kim also frequently volunteers with Friends for Life, a community club for adults with intellectual disabilities. Her dedication to help others has attracted the same caliber of team members to FMC. This has instilled a culture dedicated to helping Fine Metals Corp. grow and become a socially responsible company with a team that serves the community where they live.

When Kim isn’t working, volunteering or mentoring, she enjoys riding her horse Max, going on family vacations and spending time with her family.
